Daniel Boone wasn't exactly a cowboy, but I think he'd have had a good time in Kamloops, BC at the Public Library with me this week, deep in ranchland and sagebrush territory. I talked about writing All True and gave a couple of readings. We had a great audience, many of whom remember the 1960s Boone TV show in detail. I got a lot of Western movie recommendations too. And managed to bust the coonskin cap myth in the end.
Here's a photo from the night. Left is Professor Karen Hoffman, a brilliant author from Thompson Rivers University (she's working on a sequel too). Centre is librarian and wonderful host Andree Beauchemin. No cowboy hats, though.
